Theodore J. Yanowsky
Theodore J. “Ted” Yanowsky, 73, of Gans, Pa., died peacefully at his home Saturday, May 15, 2004 with his loving family by his side.
“Ted” was born September 9, 1930, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of Joseph (Janikowski) Yanowsky, Mary (Sweder) Yanowsky Lazuka and John Lazuka.
He was the owner of Ted’s Auto Repair in Smithfield for 37 years.
He was a 40-year member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1932 in Point Marion, Pa., Honorary Member of the Point Marion Volunteer Fire Department, and a Past Member of the Albert Gallatin Area School Board.
He was preceded in death by his parents and step-father and by an infant son.
“Ted” is survived by his beloved wife of 44 years, Gloria Grooms Yanowsky; his loving children: son, Theodore J. “Teddy” Yanowsky Jr., Uniontown, Pa., and daughter and son-in-law, Marycarol and Steve Kezmarsky Jr., Gans, Pa.; his granddaughter whom he adored, Sarah Marie Honsaker, Gans, Pa.; his three animal friends: Muffin, Perky and Gabby; and by other family, relatives and friends.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, UNIONTOWN, Pa., today (Wednesday, May 19) until 9 a.m. when a Blessing Service will be held.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 9:30 a.m. in Saint Joseph Roman Catholic Church, Old Walnut Hill Road, Uniontown, with Rev. Fr. Alexander J. Pleban as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Mount Moriah Baptist Church Cemetery, Smithfield, Pa.
Visitation was also held Monday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
Saint Joseph Parish Family Vigil Service by the Ministries of Consolation was held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.
