News and notes: Youth events highlight schedule
The Fayette County Conservation District will hold its annual fishing derby from 5-7 p.m. Monday, June 28 at Jacobs Creek Park (Greenlick Dam). Children age 15 and under are encouraged to participate in this free event.
At the completion of the tournament participants will be treated to a picnic, and prizes will be awarded.

Dunbar Fishing Day
Dunbar Sportsmen’s Club will host the annual Dunbar Creek Fishing Day from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Saturday, May 29 on the Bluestone Area of the creek.
All area youngsters are welcome.
Trout will be stocked the day of the event.
Refreshments will be available.
Roscoe Youth Day
Roscoe Sportsmen’s Association and the Ruffed Grouse Society will host their 13th annual Yough Day Saturday, June 26.
Preregistration is recommended, as only the first 100 applicants will be accepted.
All boys and girls age 8-16 are welcome.
Planned seminars include Birds of Prey; Pennsylvania Game Commission; Pennsylvania Trapper’s Association; Bird Dog Demonstration; Archery Shooting; Trap Shooting; Muzzleloader Shooting; Rifle Shooting and Pennsylvania Fish and Boat Commission.
Signup is at 7:30 a.m.
Registrants should dress for the weather, as the event will be held rain or shine.
