PA. ALPHA GAMMA MASTER BETA SIGMA PHI SORORITY will celebrate their annual birthday party at 6 p.m. on Thursday at the home of Mary L. Polink, Fairchance. Members will exchange the “Rose Buddy” gift. UNITED WAR VETERANS ASSOCIATION OF UNIONTOWN will hold a Memorial Day service on Monday at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, North Gallatin Avenue extension, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Host post is the Catholic War Veterans Post 1669 with Commander James Clark of the United War Veterans as master of ceremonies. Lt. Col. Winfred Moore, U.S. Air Force, will be guest speaker. Following the ceremony at Sylvan Heights, the VFW Post 47, Uniontown, will hold a memorial service at the Dough Boy statue, West Main Street, Uniontown, at 11:30 a.m. All services are open to the public.
NEW SALEM VOLUNTEER FIRE DEPARTMENT and the New Salem American Legion Post 753 will hold their annual Memorial Day parade Monday beginning at 10 a.m. Line up starts at 9 a.m. on South Mill Street, New Salem. All area fire departments are invited to participate. Trucks may enter South Mill Street off of Searights-Herbert Road. Following the parade, the American Legion Post 753 will conduct services at the Honor Roll. Refreshments will be provided at the fire department’s social hall. UNIONTOWN GOLDEN CLUB WILL MEET AT NOON Tuesday at Christ United Methodist Church, Uniontown, for a covered-dish dinner. Members are to bring gifts for a crazy bingo.
