Earl E. Thomas, 69, of Smithfield R.D. 3, Pa., died Thursday, May 27, 2004 at his home.

Born June 26, 1934, in Perry Township, Greene County, Pa., he was a son of Charles A. and Mary Alverta (Harvey) Thomas.

He was a former carpenter and retired Coal Miner from Consol’s Humphrey Mine, and a member of United Mine Workers of America Local 1051 and Point Marion Apostolic Church.

A hard working and honorable man, he and his wife brought up their five boys on the family farm in Springhill Township on which they all enjoyed raising cattle, sheep, and crops for many years.

He was predeceased by his wife, Ima Jean Bowser Thomas on March 17, 2002, a daughter, Belinda Jean Thomas, sisters, Wilma, Dorothy and Bernadine, brothers, Thurman, Virgil, Willis, Chester, Charles Jr., and parents.

He is survived by his sons and their spouses: James E. and Katherine Thomas of Taylortown, Pa., Andy and Lisa Thomas of Lake Lynn, Pa., Randall and Teresa Thomas of Kingwood, West Virginia, Roderic and Carrie Thomas of Somerset, Pa., and Robin E. and Dawn Thomas of Smithfield R.D.3, Pa.; 12 grandchildren; sister, Lois Jean Phillips of Mount Morris, Pa.; and dear friend, Barbara Lynn of Point Marion, Pa.

Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., today and Monday from 6 to 9 p.m.

Visitation continues Tuesday, June 1, in POINT MARION APOSTOLIC CHURCH, Point Marion, from 10 to 11 a.m., the hour of Service with Rev. David Lee Corob and Rev. Alfred C. Reed officiating.

Interment follows in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Mount Morris, Pa.
