Jacob E. Smith, 94, a 17-year resident of Carmichaels, Pa., who was born in Delmont, Westmoreland County, Pa., had served with the Civil Conservation Corps, worked as a coal miner and retired from Westinghouse Electric Corporation, and died at 11:45 a.m. Saturday, October 30, 2004 in Bialko’s Rest Home, Waynesburg, Pa. He is survived by his wife, Dorothy E. Kelly Smith, whom he married April 24, 1937; children: Dwain B. H. Smith and his companion, Leila Hennessey, of Carmichaels, Pa., and Rita M. Smith Horvath and her husband, Fred Horvath, of Camp Verde, Arizona; grandchildren: Debbie Santa Cruz, Janet Davis and Dale Horvath; two great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received in the Yoskovich Funeral Home, Martin J. Yoskovich, Funeral Director, 300 South Vine Street (Route 88), Carmichaels, Pa., on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, November 3, until 11 a.m.
