Diabetes program mapped out
National Diabetes Education Week is designed to promote public awareness of the benefits of diabetes patient education and the role of diabetes educators and healthcare providers. Highland Hospital in Connellsville will host a special diabetes support group at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 10. Those taking part in the planning are (from left) Erma Hauser, chief nursing officer; Angie Danko, administrative secretary; Pat McKissock, R.N., diabetes educator; and Tina Campbell, registered dietician. During the program, patients will have the opportunity to discuss and exchange recipes for the holidays. Novo Nordisk, the drug company sponsoring the program, will provide refreshments.
