Tri-Star Motors buys franchise

Tri-Star Motors auto group has purchased the former Stultz & Brown Ford-Mercury franchise in Tyrone. With the acquisition of the Ford-Mercury franchises in Tyrone, Tri-Star now has seven dealerships in five different locations. Tri-Star began in 1998 with the purchase of the Ford-Mercury and the Chrysler, Dodge Jeep franchises in Blairsville. Since then, Tri-Star has added the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, Sea-Doo, Ski-Doo, Bombardier franchises in Huntingdon in 2001. This year, Tri-Star added the Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep franchises in Connellsville and the Ford, Chrysler, Jeep franchises in Somerset.

According to Ford Motor Co., Tri-Star is the largest van and chassis truck dealer in Pennsylvania. Tri-Star now employs more than 200 people and inventories more than $45 million worth of new and used cars, trucks, vans and SUVs.
