Tiffany Hover of New Stanton was not injured when her 1997 Chevrolet Cavalier left Route 119 northbound and struck a guiderail at 4:50 a.m. Saturday, state police said.

Camcorder stolen
Someone broke into Eric P. and Jessica J. Hull’s Lemont Furnace residence and stole a Sony Hi-8 Camcorder from the living room between 2 and 11:45 p.m. Wednesday, state police said. Anyone with information is asked to call police at 724-439-7111.

Woman cited
State police cited Joy E. Kmetz of Uniontown for harassment after she allegedly punched Billie Jo Harper of Uniontown in the head and face, causing red marks, at a Route 857 bar at 9:45 p.m. Thursday. The citation was filed at District Justice Randy Abraham’s office, police said.

Southwest Regional Police cited Peck Lamont Smith, 40, of 106 Park Manor, Monessen, for disorderly conduct after an alleged domestic disturbance Sunday at 10:50 p.m. at 213 Water St. in Belle Vernon.

Ben Manos of 423 Sixth St. told Southwest Regional Police that sometime between 3:30 p.m. Nov. 2 and 10:30 a.m. Nov. 3 someone entered his residence through the side basement door and stole $6 in cash, two champagne glasses and two shot glasses. Hearing continued
A preliminary hearing scheduled Tuesday for a Normalville woman charged with soliciting men in an Internet chat room to go to another woman’s home and engage in sexual acts was continued to Nov. 16.
Tracie Lee Grimm, 29, of 119 Cramer Road is charged with criminal solicitation to commit rape, recklessly endangering another person, identity theft, stalking and two counts of criminal use of a communication facility.
Police said Grimm allegedly posed as a 58-year-old Champion woman in the chat room and told the men to come to her home and rape her.
In addition to several men appearing at her door, the alleged victim also received more than 100 telephone calls from men throughout the country, said police.
Grimm remains lodged in Fayette County Prison on a $50,000 percentage bond.
The hearing is scheduled before District Justice Robert Breakiron at 10:30 a.m.

Hearing delayed
A preliminary hearing for a township car dealer charged with defrauding 24 customers was continued Tuesday.
The hearing was to be held before District Justice Robert Breakiron.
Mark L. Jordan, 49, of White Oak is charged by police with 30 felony counts of theft by deception, 19 felony counts of theft by failure to make required disposition of funds received, two felony counts of tampering with public records or information and 19 criminal summary counts of grounds for disciplinary proceedings in connection with transactions that took place between July and October 2003.
In the criminal complaint filed by police, Jordan is accused of selling vehicles received through a consignment with two other dealerships and not paying for vehicles after they were sold and that he collected sales tax, title fees and registration fees from the purchasers of the vehicles and did not turn over the money to the state as required by law.
Jordan remains free on bond.
A new date has not been scheduled for the hearing.

Township police said neither Nora Barclay, 85, of Chalk Hill nor Jason M. Flora, 27, of Pittsburgh was injured in an accident on Route 40 at Fayette Springs Road Saturday at 11:38 a.m.

City police said an unknown male suspect stole a carton of cigarettes from Sweet Pea’s on West Fayette Street at 5:12 p.m. Sunday.

Stove catches fire
City police and firefighters responded to a stove fire at Potter’s Grill on Morgantown Street Monday at 3:13 p.m. The fire was out when they arrived, and the fire department cleared smoke from the building. No injuries were reported.

Charges filed
City police said simple assault and harassment charges were filed against a boy for allegedly attacking a 13-year-old boy Monday on Peter Street. Police said the suspect slammed the boy’s head on the concrete sidewalk near the Federal Building. He suffered a cut on the right side of his head and was transported to Uniontown Hospital.

State police said someone broke into an office trailer, owned by Norwin Construction of Irwin, located across the street from 338 Labelle Road between 3 p.m. Friday and 6:30 a.m. Monday. A computer, Envision 17-inch flat screen monitor, battery backup unit, laser printer, color scanner, phone/answering machine combination, two hand-held Texas instruments calculators and a gray copier were stolen.

Marjorie Leigh Smith, 35, of Clarksville was cited with public drunkenness after she allegedly walked into the River Avenue home of Danette Brown Sunday night, borough police said.

The postmaster at the Masontown post office told borough police that a mailbox stand in Fort Mason Village was damaged sometime over the weekend.

A harassment charge was filed against Paula Vig, 46, of Brownsville for allegedly going to a 17-year-old boy’s Bull Run Road residence, pushing him against a wall and ripping his shirt, causing scratches on his back, on Nov. 3, state police said. The citation was filed at District Justice Michael Defino Jr.’s office.

State police said several DeWalt tools were stolen from a truck owned by Ronald Baron at his Coal Center residence between 7 p.m. Sunday and 7 a.m. Monday.

State police said driver Daniel Fordyce, 24, of Merrittstown suffered minor injuries after he failed to negotiate a curve in a state road and struck a tree Sunday at 4:15 a.m.

Stolen car burned
State police said a 1995 Honda Accord reported stolen on Aug. 5 was found burned on Chaintown Road on Oct. 21. Allstate Insurance was listed by police as the victim.

Power disrupted
Allegheny Power reported that 1,939 homes and businesses in the West High Street and Bucktown areas of Waynesburg were without electricity Tuesday morning after a vehicle hit a utility pole and damaged the pole and equipment at 10:25 a.m. The pole and equipment were replaced and service was restored by noon. Some work also had to be done at a local power station in order to restore service, according to Allegheny Power officials.

Man arraigned
The California Borough Police reported that on Oct. 30, John P. Vennare, 25, of 6200 Mountain Ave., Bethel Park, was arraigned before District Justice David Mark on a charge of simple assault. Police said the assault was a result of an alleged domestic violence incident at apartment 837 of the Jefferson at California Apartments. Vennare was placed in the Washington County Jail after failing to post a $2,500 bond, police said.

Assault reported
The California Borough Police said that simple assault charges were filed against Joshua Kevech, 18, of 98 Kevech Road, Monongahela, on Nov 1.
Police reported that the charges were filed because of an investigation into an assault that had allegedly occurred on Oct. 17 in the 300 block of Strawberry Way. Police said Cory Cox was allegedly assaulted by one or more males while walking home. The investigation continues and additional arrests are anticipated.

Charges filed
The California Borough Police said that on Monday, charges of reckless endangering, possession of marijuana, criminal mischief and disorderly conduct were file against Travis J. Carden, 22, of 212 Ridge Road, Monongahela, who allegedly shot a California University of Pennsylvania police car with a paint ball while it was traveling on Wood Street. When university police identified Carden, police alleged they recovered two paint ball guns and accessories from his off-campus student residence at 834 Wood St. Additional arrests are pending following further investigation.

Police impersonated
State police are searching for a white man driving a dark blue sedan with a red light attached to the roof after he allegedly impersonated a police officer Sunday afternoon.
Police said the man stopped a 22-year-old woman along the Route 43 Toll Road near the Elco Exit at 1:30 p.m.
According to police reports, the woman was traveling north along Route 43 when the man turned the red light on and pulled her vehicle to the side of the highway.
The man asked for the victim’s license and then told the woman that she was speeding and added that her vehicle matched the description of a stolen vehicle, police said. The man told her to “go with him to straighten the matter out,” Belle Vernon Trooper J.A. Trypus stated in his report.
At this point the woman took her license from the suspect and then fled the scene, police said.
The man in question is believed to be in his early 40s with black hair, a medium build and a goatee. He was wearing a dark blue uniform with a silver badge on his left shirt pocket.
