Helen H. Gabrin
Helen H. (Hovanec) Gabrin, 76, of Uniontown, Pa., died Sunday, Nov. 7, 2004. She was born July 25, 1928, in Footedale, Pa., daughter of the late Michael J. and Suzanne E. (Hlavach) Hovanec.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Frank T. Gabrin on Nov. 5, 2002.
Helen was a very active member of St. John the Baptist Byzantine Church, where she has served as Cantor since 1979. She was a past member of Marian Woman and was a German Township band mother.
Left to cherish her memory are her two sons, Frank D. Gabrin D.O., of Macedonia, Ohio, and Michael J. Gabrin and wife, Dianne of Murrysville, Pa.; three grandsons, Michael R., Matthew A., and Ryan J. Gabrin; two sisters, Evelyn Macar of Tampa, Fla., and Cecelia Kopas of Perryopolis, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
Friends will be received in the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME INC., A Dignity Memorial Provider, 603 North Gallatin Ave., Ext., Uniontown, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and on Thursday, Nov. 11, 2004, until 10 a.m., when a Panachida Service will be held, followed by Divine Liturgy at 10:30 a.m., in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Church, with the Rev. Fr. Thomas J. Wesdock as celebrant. Interment will follow in Mt. Macrina Cemetery. Parastas will be held this evening at 7 p .m., in the funeral home.
