Nov. 12, 2004 Schedule changed
Due to the Thanksgiving holiday, the recycling collection for Zone 8 in the city of Uniontown will be done Wednesday, Nov. 24. The recycling center will be closed and no recyclables will be collected Thursday or Friday, Nov. 25 or 26. For more information, call 437-9878.
Service scheduled
Calvary United Methodist Church, 34 Clark St., and corner of Collins Avenue, Uniontown, celebrates Consecration Sunday at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Larry Homistsky, conference steward, will bring the message. A celebration luncheon will follow in fellowship hall. The chancel choir will sing. A fully staffed nursery and “babyland” are available.
Meeting planned
State police information officer Brian Burden will lead a neighborhood watch meeting regarding home invasions Friday, Nov. 19, at 6 p.m. at the Ronco Fire Hall. Community members are encouraged to attend.
PennDOT schedule set
PennDOT’s Fayette County maintenance manager, Merle G. Bolen, has announced the following tentative work plan for next week. All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting basis. Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights.
Bridge substructure repairs and bridge wing-wall slope repairs will be made on Prittstown Road and Bitner Road.
Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced, and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout Fayette County.
Patching is scheduled for Leisenring-Vanderbilt Road and Round Barn Road
Shoulder cutting operations will be performed on Route 4004 in Hibbs and Footedale Road.
Crack sealing is scheduled for Route 119 in Dunbar Township.
Crews will do shoulder work and remove excess dirt from under the guiderail on Route 3006.
Spray patching is scheduled for Route 119, the Uniontown Bypass.
Tree cutting is scheduled for Route 43.
Base repairs will be made on Jumonville Road.
Repairs will be made to drainage problem areas on various state routes in the Mill Run area.

Breakfast scheduled
A pancake and buckwheat sausage breakfast will be held Saturday from 8 to 11 a.m. at the Carmichaels Grange Hall. A show with local crafters from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. will also be held.
