Brownsville celebrated education
Parents/Guardian and community members are invited t visit Brownsville Area School District’s schools during American Education Week, Nov. 14-20. This year will mark the 83rd annual observance of American Education Week, a time for celebrating the American Dream of public schools and the relationships between teachers, students and parents. The theme this year, “Celebrating the American Dream,” reflects the nation’s commitment to all students. The many unsung efforts and interactions that take place between children, parents, and teachers cannot be underplayed. If partnerships between teachers and parents are strong, children’s chances of success skyrocket. Parents are encouraged to visit their child’s classroom, meet the child’s teacher and principal and learn they can work together to contribute to the child’s success.
Visitation schedule for the week is as follows: Tuesday, Nov. 16, high school, 5 to 8 p.m.; Wednesday, Nov. 17, Redstone Middle School, 5 to 8 p.m.; Thursday, Nov. 18, elementary schools, 5 to 8 p.m.
