Mary Elizabeth “Betty” Bakewell Frost, 79, of Brownsville, Pa., (Centerville Boro), died Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, in Bentleyville Personal Care Home following a lengthy illness. She was born on July 5, 1925, in Brownsville, Pa., a daughter of the late Albert and Rachel Ann Meese Bakewell.

Mrs. Frost was a homemaker, a member of the Centerville American Legion Ladies Auxiliary, served two terms on the Centerville Boro Council, and also was a Democratic Committee Woman in Washington County.

She was a lifelong member of the Centerville United Methodist Church, where she was a member of the choir and also belonged to the United Methodist Women.

Mrs. Frost enjoyed baking.

She is survived by one son, Dennis R. Frost of Washington, Pa.; two daughters, Tana Renee Kurilko of Bentleyville, and Carla Rae Bartman of Fredericktown; one sister, Virginia Whiting of Centerville; eight grandchildren, Ronald Frost Jr., Rachel Mosier, Ricky Frost, Brett Frost, Beth Frost, Harry Harris, Wendy Sklareski and Anna Elizabeth Bartman; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

Deceased, in addition to her parents, are her husband, Albert Wesley “Bung” Frost, who died July 7, 1990; one son, Ronald W. Frost, who died Dec. 17, 1998; one grandson, Randy Frost; five brothers, Jack, Irvin, Chris, Boyd and James Bakewell; and seven sisters, Ruth Boyle, Helen Theakston, Beatrice Byrd, Cecil Fulmer, Faith Bakewell, Hope Bakewell and Charity Bakewell.

Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m., today in the JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main St., Beallsville, where funeral services will be held Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Edd Byers officiating. Interment will be in Westland Cemetery, Centerville Boro.
