Veronica Phillips

Veronica Fifer Karem Phillips of Anaheim, Calif., formerly of Uniontown and Grindstone, passed away Thursday, Nov. 18, 2004, in California. Born Sept. 1, 1915, in Connellsville, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Casimer Fifer and Catherine Bishada Fifer.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Joseph Karem and her second husband, James Phillips; brothers, Casimer Fifer and John Fifer; and her sister, Genevieve DePrill.

Veronica was a former member of St. George Maronite Roman Catholic Church. She was formerly employed at the A & P in Uniontown.

She is survived by her brother, Anthony Fifer of Twinsburg, Ohio; nieces and nephews; and friends.

Friends will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVE., UNIONTOWN, PA., on Friday, Nov. 26, 2004, from 2 to 8 p.m., and on Saturday until 10:30 a.m., when Prayers of Transfer will be said, followed by an 11 a.m. Divine Liturgy in St. George Maronite R.C. Church, with the Rev. Fr. Joseph David as Celebrant. Interment follows in Sylva Heights Cemetery.
