Celebration slated
New Beginning Church, 93 Jefferson St., Uniontown, will celebrate the church’s 16th anniversary with the Rev. Vincent Winfrey, accompanied by his congregation of Mount Olivet Baptist Church. The service is at 3:30 p.m. Sunday. Bishop Leonard A. Tucker is host pastor.
Communion planned
New Salem Presbyterian Church, 27 S. Mill St., worships Sunday at 11 a.m. with the celebration of the Lord’s Supper. The Rev. Marnie Abraham Russell, interim pastor, will deliver the message “Timing is Everything’ on the first Sunday of Advent. Worship assistants and Advent candle leaders are Jane Jeffries and Karen, Angela and Natalie Pontorero. A nursery with adult supervision is provided during worship. The annual Hanging of the Greens begins at 2 p.m. with decorating, followed by a covered dish dinner at 5 p.m. and worship with the celebration of the enchanted tree and carol sing at 6 p.m.
Carol sing announced
Uniontown Free Methodist Church, located at the corner of Euclid Avenue and Evans Street, one block from the B.J. Mundel Furniture store on Uniontown’s East End, will hold a Christmas carol hymn sing at 6 p.m. Sunday. Participants will get to choose their favorite Christmas carols to be sung by the congregation.
