Bullskin Twp. officials OK tentative budget
BULLSKIN TWP. – Supervisors passed their tentative budget Wednesday without a tax hike. Supervisor John Coughenour said the millage rate would remain at .459. Coughenour additionally said that the last time township residents experienced a tax hike was 40 or 50 years ago.
Although a copy of the preliminary 2005 budget was not available at the regular monthly meeting Wednesday, Coughenour said the supervisors plan to spend $1,042,771. A copy of the final plan will be available at the Dec. 15 meeting, according to the supervisors.
Supervisor Chairman Walter (Deb) Wiltrout said next month’s meeting date has been change because of the Christmas holiday.
The meeting was moved from Dec. 29 to Dec. 15 at the township building.
In another matter, the supervisors agreed to take over Skyview Lane, near Metzger Road. Coughenour said Skyview Lane is in a subdivision with three or four homes.
During the public participation portion of the meeting, township resident Don Fulton complained that the supervisors were “harassing” him because township code enforcement officer Roger Adams was sent to his home to tell him to clean up his property.
Fulton said he is not the only resident in the township who has disabled vehicles and junk on his property and asked supervisors to have Adams sent to other homes which are also in violation of the township code.
The supervisors assured Fulton that they were not “harassing” him and agreed that Fulton has made an attempt to clean up his property.
