Rudolph J. Pirge
Rudolph J. Pirge, 97, of Deemston Boro, Pa., died at 5:50 p.m., Thursday, Nov. 25. 2004, in Lasosky’s Personal Care Home, Clarksville, Pa. He was born May 14, 1907, in Germany, a son of Jacob and Anna Rosthrar Pirge.
Mr. Pirge retired in 1972 from the Vesta 5 Mine of LTV Steel after 45 years of service. He was a member of the Saint Michael Archangel Church of the Saint Oliver Plunkett Parish, Fredericktown.
Mr. Pirge operated a small farm in Deemston Boro, and was an avid vegetable gardener. He enjoyed working in his yard.
On November 12, 1928, he married Anna M. Moravitz Pirge, who died February 7, 2000.
Surviving are two daughters, Shirley Baker and husband Mike and Rose Marie Pacilla and husband Frank, all of Washington, Pa.; two granddaughters, Deborah Taber and husband Scott and Susan Robinson and husband Mark; one grandson, Mark Pacilla and wife Kimberly; two great-grandsons, Anthony and Matthew Pacilla; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to his wife are two brothers and one sister. Mr. Pirge was the last of his immediate family.
Friends will be received Saturday, Nov. 27, 2004, from 10 a.m. to noon in the GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 42 Bank Street at Crawford Road, Fredericktown, where a Prayer Service will be held at noon with the Rev. Paul J. Grunebach officiating. Interment will follow in Greene County Memorial Park Cemetery, Waynesburg.
