Bishop to speak Uniontown Free Methodist Church will host special guest speaker Bishop Joseph F. James at the 8:30 and 11 a.m. worship services on Sunday.
James, a native of British Columbia, Canada, was elected a bishop of the Free Methodist Church of North America in 1999. He earned a bachelor’s degree from Seattle Pacific University in 1970, a master’s in divinity from Asbury Theological Seminary in 1973 and a doctorate in ministry from Western Evangelical Seminary in 1986.
James was a church planter and pastor in British Columbia until 1985 when he became superintendent of the Canada West Conference. He served as president of Aldersgate College from 1990 to 1995 and then became superintendent of the Pacific Northwest Conference.
He is the author of “On the Front Lines: A Guide to Church Planting,’ was a member of the editorial team for “Canadian Free Methodist Book of Discipline’ and contributor to “Light and Life’ magazine.
James and his wife, Marilyn, have three children and reside in Indianapolis, Ind.

Book sale set
California Public Library will hold a book sale during the month of October. A large number of clean adult and children’s books are available and special sales will be held at the end of the month.
The library is seeking donations of clean used books/audio books/videos/puzzles for the sale. Children’s materials are especially needed and all donations are appreciated.
