Joseph Liberatore Jr.
Joseph Liberatore Jr., 55, of Fredericktown (Centerville Boro), Pa., died Sunday, Oct. 3, 2004, in Washington Hospital, Washington, Pa., following a long battle with cancer. He was born June 29, 1949, in Waynesburg, Pa., a son of the late Joseph Liberatore Sr., who died Sept. 2, 1969, and Vincenza Yvonne Liberatore of Fredericktown (Centerville Boro).
Mr. Liberatore was a graduate of Beth Center High School and attended Robert Morris College, Pittsburgh, Pa. He worked in the Steel Industry for Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel for 15 years, then Washington Steel for 17 years, and currently worked for U.S. Steel, Irvin Works for the past two years.
He was a member of the Beallsville F & AM Lodge 237 since 1983, Uniontown Lodge of Perfection and United Steel Workers of America. Mr. Liberatore was an avid golfer and loved gardening and working on his home.
Mr. Liberatore was a member of the St. Oliver Plunkett Parish, St. Michael Archangel Church, Fredericktown.
On March 14, 1970, he married Bernice (Candi) Finley Liberatore, who survives. He is her best friend and beloved husband for 34 years.
He will truly be missed by his family and friends.
Surviving in addition to his mother and wife is a daughter, Elisa M. Liberatore of Brownsville, Pa.
Friends will be received from 7 to 9 p.m., today and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., on Wednesday in the JOHN B. GREENLEE FUNERAL HOME, 2830 Main St., Beallsville, Pa., where friends will gather on Thursday, Oct. 7, 2004, at 10 a.m., followed by a Mass of Christian burial at 10:30 a.m., in St. Michael Archangel Church, Fredericktown, with the Rev. Paul J. Grunebach officiating. Interment will be in Taylor Cemetery, West Pike Run Township.
