Activity report State police in Waynesburg responded to 573 incidents throughout Greene County in September. The incidents included 128 found criminal offenses with 100 cleared and 86 arrests made. Police responded to 60 crashes and six hit-and-runs with 18 people injured. Police responded to nine driving under the influence of alcohol-related crashes and arrested nine people for DUI. Police issued 362 traffic citations and 327 warnings.

Man cited

State police cited Waynesburg resident Richard Vinson for disorderly conduct at 983 4th Ave. at 7:44 p.m. Monday.

Morgan Twp.

Charges to be filed

State police said charges will filed against a 45-year-old Clarksville man after he allegedly threw a toy stroller, striking Jessica Lingenfield, 21, of Mather in the back of the right arm at 142 1st St. in Mather at 4:16 p.m. Tuesday.

Connellsville Twp.

Driver extracted

State police said 16-year-old James King suffered moderate injuries in an accident Tuesday in which firefighters extricated him from a vehicle along Narrows Road. Police said King lost control while negotiating a slight curve, slid off the road, struck several mailboxes and hit a utility pole at 8:40 p.m. Township volunteer firefighters and Fayette EMS extricated him from the vehicle. He was flown to Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh.

Luzerne Twp.

Thefts investigated

State police said they are investigating a report that someone used the Social Security number of Margaret Rankin of Crawford Avenue, Hiller, to obtain phone service from Verizon on Sept. 22. Police said Rankin also reported the theft of $200 from her home Tuesday at 11:45 a.m.

German Twp.

Driver cited

Terry J. Boyd Jr., 25, was cited for not immediately notifying police about an accident after he allegedly struck a tree along Footedale Road at 2:55 a.m. Sept. 28 and fled the scene.

Neither he nor his passenger, Beth Ann Moats, 23, was injured. The car he was driving had major damage. Footedale Volunteer Fire Department assisted.

Menallen Twp.

Man cited

Joel Joshua Shumar, 27, of New Salem was cited with criminal mischief for allegedly breaking a screen door at the Searights Village residence of Holly Ann Bryner, 21, at 10:30 p.m. Thursday, state police said.

South Union Twp.

Gasoline stolen

State police said the driver of a green van left the Dairy Mart on Dixon Boulevard without paying for $5 in gas Wednesday at 12:30 p.m.

Sheriff’s report

The sheriff’s office received 612 requests for services in September, according to Sheriff Gary D. Brownfield’s monthly activity report.

The report includes 65 complaints and summons, 37 landlord/tenant disputes, 41 protection from abuse cases, 30 mortgage foreclosure complaints, 21 foreign writs of possessions, 16 personal property executions, two writs of possessions, 377 gun permits processed, 10 real estate services, 13 miscellaneous services requested, seven bench warrants served, 72 prisoners transported, 5,523 miles traveled transporting prisoners, 168 hours of courthouse and 911 center security, 32 hours of miscellaneous security and 47 hours of community relations programming.

Funds forwarded to the county totaled $26,440 and funds spent for services not reimbursed to the county totaled $11,387.

Monthly report

Borough police received 267 requests for services and issued 15 traffic citations in September, according to Chief Richard A. Barron’s monthly activity report.

The report includes eight escorts, 18 suspicious persons reports, 14 assists to other agencies, three warrants served with two arrests, one retail theft arrest, two public drunkenness complaints, 24 miscellaneous complaints, 15 disturbances with four arrests, 19 harassment complaints with four arrests, 19 harassment complaints, 13 thefts, 18 juvenile complaints, 11 criminal mischief complaints with one arrest, five animal complaints, one bomb threat, six alarms, 14 domestic incidents with one arrest, two missing persons, 14 traffic and parking complaints, five 911 hang-up calls, two disorderly conduct complaints with three arrests, two business security checks, two sex offense complaints, two defibrillator responses, two weapons complaints, seven ambulance assists, one traffic detail, three accidents, two trespass complaints, five motorist assists, one fraud complaint, two stolen vehicles, one ordinance violation, five found property reports, one littering complaint and two drug offense reports.

Property reported lost or stolen was valued at $7,282 and recovered property was valued at $9,036.
