Audrey Smith Rice
Audrey M. Smith Rice, age 76, of Dellslow, West Virginia, and formerly of Point Marion, Pa., died Friday, October 8, 2004, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown, West Virginia.
Born July 8, 1928, in Smithfield, Pa., she was a daughter of Daniel and Ernestine (Pyle) Smith.
She was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Morgantown and The Daughters of the American Revolution.
Audrey very much enjoyed reading and writing poetry and was an active member of the Morgantown Poetry Society and the West Virginia Poetry Society.
She was predeceased by her husband, Warren M. Rice on May 31, 1999, a brother, Donald Smith, a sister, Lois Staub, and parents.
Surviving are five children and their spouses: Warren M. and Margaret Rice Jr. of Mesa Arizona, Irving E. and Mitzi Rice Sr. of Point Marion, Pa., Ronald E. and Rhonda Rice of Cheat Lake, West Virginia, Linda Gail Keener of Orrville, Ohio, and Carol and Randy Sine Sr. of Dellslow with whom Audrey resided for the past several years; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a sister, Ethel Oldham of Elkins, West Virginia.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., today (Tuesday, October 12) until 1 p.m., the hour of Service with Pastor Bennie L. Moran officiating.
Interment follows in Point Marion Cemetery.
Visitation was also held Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m. and Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
