Open house set Morrell Volunteer Fire Department, will hold an open house at the firehouse on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The Ladies Auxiliary will have a pancake and sausage dinner on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Adults pay $4, and children under 10 years old pay $2.

Some activities for the day include: Fayette EMS will do blood pressure screenings, demonstrations with the Dawson, Liberty, and Vanderbilt Volunteer Fire Department, finger-painting with Pennsylvania State Police, Hazmat demonstrations, and landing of Stat Medical Helicopter. Admission is free and all ages are welcome. The new HME pumper tanker will be on display.

Clean-up slated

Menallen Township supervisors set fall clean-up week for Oct. 18.

Residents are asked to have items out the same day as their garbage collection.

Also, trick-or-treating in the township will be on Oct. 31 from 3 to 5 p.m.
