Allison church to install new pastor
The Rev. Roger Diehl will be officially installed as new pastor of the Allison First Church of the Nazarene by Pittsburgh District Superintendent Dr. Steven Dilman during Sunday’s 10:45 a.m. worship service. Diehl and his wife, Karen, are from Reading. They have three daughters, Amber, 18, Sharayah, 16, and Cassandra, 16.
He has served as associate pastor in four churches over the past 22 years. Diehl received his bachelor’s degree in Christian education from Fort Wayne Bible College. He was ordained as an elder in the church of the Nazarene this past spring.
His focus has been on youth and young adults ministry. He was a teen camp director. He did abstinence education in the local high school and is a PREP marriage enrichment instructor.
Diehl said his goal is “to be a caring pastor, making disciples in the church and community, walking along on an adventurous faith journey.’
The church’s weekly schedule of services includes Sunday school with classes for all ages from nursery to senior adults at 9:45 and Sunday worship at 10:45 a.m. and 6 p.m. On Wednesday, there is a children’s service for ages 5 to 12 at 6:30 p.m., with bell choir practice following at 7 p.m. with Children of All Ages Hour.
