Local church honors pastor all of October

First Assembly of God in Scottdale is honoring its pastor, the Rev. Frank E. Lewis III, as the church observes Pastor Appreciation Month. The church held a Pastor Appreciation Day last week for Lewis, who has been pastor since January 2003.

Lewis was born and raised in Brave, and resides in Greensburg with his wife, Linda. The Lewises have two children, Brenda and Frank IV, and two grandchildren, Victoria and Bridget.

Lewis graduated from Zion Bible Institute at East Providence, R.I., receiving training thee in biblical doctrinal missionary and associated subjects.

He graduated from Central Bible College in Springfield, Mass., with a bachelor of arts degree in religious education. In 1978, Lewis received his certificate of ordination from the General Council of the Assembly of God.

Lewis is also chaplain at the Fayette County Prison and will have his Third Annual Banquet of Good News Jail and Prison Ministry at Youghiogheny Western Baptist Association Banquet Hall in South Union Township on Saturday at 6:30 p.m.
