Handguns stolen City police said Sherry Albright of 47 Murray Ave. reported Wednesday at 6:35 p.m. that two handguns she purchased that day from Reese’s in Smithfield were stolen from her car. She told police she did not where she was when the guns were taken from her car, but she usually left it unlocked. Police said there were no signs of forced entry.

Cow shot
State police said someone shot and killed a 2-year-old female shorthorn beef cow with an Easton 2212 Ultralite XX78 Super Slam aluminum arrow with brown camouflage and orange and black feathers between 7:30 p.m. Tuesday and noon Wednesday in a field at 362 Pleasant View Road. Rinkhoff Agriculture Enterprises of Smock owned the cow. Police ask anybody with information about the incident to call the station at 724-439-7111.

State police said Ralph G. Anderson, 66, reported that a Panasonic wireless surveillance camera was stolen from the rear of his 317B Washington Ave. residence Wednesday between 6:30 a.m. and 3 p.m.

Stolen truck recovered
State police said a truck owned by Gary Gizzi of Richeyville was stolen from the Parts Plus Auto Store lot on Route 40 Monday and was recovered after it was driven into Ten Mile Creek in Morgan Township in Greene County and abandoned Tuesday.

Attempted auto theft
State police said someone unsuccessfully tried to take a van owned by Sarah A. Stitt from the A Beautiful Thought Flower Shop lot on Route 40 between 8 p.m. Monday and 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.

Citation filed
A harassment citation was filed against Tricia Crozier, 33, of 12 E. Craig St. following a Wednesday morning incident, city police said. She allegedly tried to block Karen Washabaugh, 36, of Woodlawn Avenue in her vehicle in the Midtown Foodland parking lot, followed her to Smithfield Bank on West Fayette Street, where she got out of her car and started banging on Washabaugh’s vehicle window, police said.

State police said someone broke into William Clemmer’s Lake Lynn residence and stole a large bowl of Halloween candy Tuesday between noon and 9 p.m.

Rebecca Rhodes, 17, of Smithfield and Rachael Horne, 19, of Dilliner were cited with underage drinking following a disturbance at 22 Broadway St. Wednesday at 10:20 p.m., state police said.

One-car accident
State police said Barry Clemmer, 65, fell asleep while driving on a state road and struck a utility pole just off Skyline Drive Wednesday at 5:05 p.m. He had minor injuries, but his car had severe front-end damage.

State police said Mary Mitchell of Mount Pleasant and Patricia Lash of West Newton were involved in an accident on Mount Pleasant Road Wednesday at 1:25 p.m. Lash had a minor injury.

Bicycles stolen
City police said Angela Marie Belliconish of 21 Woodlawn Ave. reported that two bikes were stolen from her yard sometime Wednesday. One was a dark blue, 20-inch boys bike and the other was a purple and pink, 20-inch girls Huffy.

Two charged
Donald Jason Wilson, 28, of Connellsville was charged with felony receiving stolen property, two counts of corruption of minors and three counts of solicitation to commit retail theft. He was arraigned before District Justice Michael Rubish and committed to the Fayette County Prison in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
State police said Joyce Lynn Mackey, 24, of Smithfield, who was arrested on Sunday for the same crimes, implicated Wilson. Police said Mackey made a statement that she and Wilson had solicited her 6-year-old son and her 14-year-old nephew to steal various items from the Shop n’ Save grocery store in Connellsville, Advance Auto Parts in Connellsville Township, and the Giant Eagle grocery store in North Union Township this past weekend. Another party who was present during the incidents verified Mackey’s statement, police said.
Police arrested Wilson at his residence on Tuesday. Police found the stolen items inside.

In September, the borough police department investigated 24 calls, including one non-reportable accident, two animal complaints, three domestics, seven harassments, one report of property damage, three suspicious vehicle reports and one drug offense. Police assisted other agencies twice, aided in traffic control once, served two bench warrants and one Protection from Abuse order. Police issued four non-traffic citations, 11 traffic citations and 12 written warnings.

Man charged
The Southwest Regional Police Department reported that William Scott Lint was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and defiant trespassing following an incident at CSX Railroad Service Road on May 21. Charges were filed before District Justice Jesse Cramer in Belle Vernon.

Oven fire
The city fire department responded to an oven fire in Regina Wooten’s home at 22 Maple St. Thursday at 3:34 p.m. Assistant Chief Chuck Coldren said the fire was out when firefighters arrived and nobody was injured. He said Wooten was cooking and some grease spilled, setting the oven on fire. There were no other damages.

Woman cited
State police cited Brandie Nicholson, 18, of Uniontown for harassment after she allegedly struck Michael Sutton of Uniontown in the face on McDonough Street at 4 a.m. Wednesday.
