Police cite several for underage drinking, other violations
The California Borough Police Department reported that several people were cited last week for underage drinking and disorderly conduct. On Oct. 15, at 145 Union St., police cited Brandon Hohman, 22, of Latrobe, and Lonny Vogel, 23, of Hunker, for disorderly conduct. Melissa King, 20, of Greensburg, Jerome Dopkowski, 20, of Jeannette, Benjamin Capets, 20, of Greensburg, Michele Jackson, 20, of Monongahlia, Nicholas Basko, 20, of Meadville, Nolan Gilbert, 20 of Saegertown, Robert Ritenhour, 19, of California, Heather Boyd, 20, of McKeesport, and Joseph Kyle, 20, of Miltan, Delaware, were all cited for disorderly conduct and underage drinking.
On Oct. 17, at apartment 315 of the Jefferson Apartments, police cited Morgan Saucier, 19, of Cranberry, Todd McCullough, 19, of Apollo, Megan Meyers, 19, of Belle Vernon, Alan Juba, 19, of Pittsburgh, Peter Mylnar, 18, of Pittsburgh, Jeffrey Horrell, 20, of California, Steven Chavern, 18, of West Mifflin, and one juvenile from West Mifflin for underage drinking.
The department also reported that on Oct. 15, at 505 Third St., Patrick Chuna, 19, of 409 Jefferson Apartments, was charged with possession of marijuana, intent to distribute, resisting arrest, underage drinking, and disorderly conduct.
On Oct. 15, after a traffic stop in the 700 block of Wood Street, Michael Rust, 19, of McKees Rocks, was charged with DUI. During the incident, his passenger, Jason North, 18, of McKees Rocks, was charged with aggravated assault, resisting arrest, underage drinking, and disorderly conduct, after he became combative with arresting officers. As a result of his behavior, officer Tracy Hudak was injured and received treatment at Brownsville General Hospital.
California police said that the department will continue its zero tolerance initiative for underage drinking in the borough.
