Road work planned PennDOT’s Fayette County maintenance manager, Merle G. Bolen, has announced the following tentative work plan for next week.
All maintenance activities are conducted on a weather-permitting basis.
Motorists should drive with caution throughout all work areas and be alert for signed work zones requiring the use of headlights.
Signs will be updated, downed signs will be replaced and work orders will be addressed on various state routes throughout Fayette County.
Wing-wall repairs will be made Prittstown Road.
Patching is scheduled for Waltersburg Road, Route 819, Jumonville Road and Route 1039.
Crews will cut shoulders and fill in drop-offs on Route 40 west.
Crack sealing is scheduled on Route 119.
Berm and washout repairs and storm cleanup will be done on various state routes in the Morris Crossroads area.
Pipe replacement is scheduled for Breakneck Road, Route 711 and Bear Rocks Road and Buchanan Church Road.
Trees and weed cutting are planned for Route 43.

Assistance available
The Washington County Human Services Department will offer assistance to county residents who are continuing to experience personal hardships as a result of last month’s flooding. Approximately $19,000 in funding has been made available through contributions by the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 22 of Washington, Molycorp Inc. and private donors.
In order to be eligible, an individual must be registered with FEMA, have an account number and confirmation letter, and must be able to clearly demonstrate actual need caused by the flood.
