Rose M. Kingan Humphreys, 83, of Fairchance, Pa., died Wednesday, Oct. 27, 2004, in Greenbrier Valley Medical Center, Fairlea, W.Va. She was born June 20, 1921, in Glendale, Fayette County, Pa., daughter of the late Thomas W. Kingan and Ella Mae Stemnock Kingan.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her sisters, Dorothy Miller and Minnie Kennison; brothers, Edward Kingan and Roy Kingan; and grandson, Eric Davis.

Rose was employed for many years with the Housekeeping Department of West Virginia University, Morgantown, W.Va. She was a former long time member of the Alfred Wilson Memorial VFW Post 7219 Ladies Auxiliary.

Surviving are her children, Douglas “Pat” Humphreys and wife Judy, Coolspring, Pa., Judith Mossburg and husband Dr. William Mossburg, Lewisburg, W.Va., Charles Humphreys and wife Carol of Norwich, Ohio and Stephen “Arnie” Humphreys and wife Debbie of Fairchance; 24 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and brothers and sisters, Jim Kingan, White House, Pa., Margaret Switalski and husband Leonard, Martinsburg, W.Va., Alberta Switalski and husband Kenneth, Glendale, Pa., Laura Conley, New Geneva and Kate Barton, New Geneva.

The family will receive friends in the DEAN C. WHITMARSH FUNERAL HOME, 134 West Church Street, Fairchance, Pa., today from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Saturday, Oct. 30, 2004, until 11 a.m., the hour of service, with the Rev. Donald E. Walls officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park, Brownfield, Pa.
