Joseph H. Jackson
Joseph H. Jackson, 81, of Core, W.Va., died Monday, Aug. 30, 2004, at his home. Born May 16, 1923, at Morgan Mines, W.Va., he was the son of the late Henry and Nellie Jackson.
He was a retired truck driver from King Knob Coal Company, in Morgantown, and had formerly worked for Houze Gas Company, in Dilliner, Pa. Joe was an Apostolic by faith, a member of the U.M.W.A. Local No. 1058, and was known for his skill and patience in repairing small gasoline engines.
Surviving are his son and daughter-in-law, Tom and Wilma Jackson; a granddaughter, Lori Dean; two great-grandsons, Tyler and Zachary Dean, all of Core; a sister-in-law, Alberta Johnson of Point Marion, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy McClain Jackson on March 15, 2004, and by a sister, Eleanor Thompson.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Thursday until the hour of service at 1 p.m., with the Rev. R. Scott Teets officiating. Interment will follow in Fairview Cemetery, Taylortown, Pa.
