Mary Rozzi
Mary Hegedus Chory Rozzi, 79, of Masontown, Pa., died Thursday, Sept. 2, 2004, in Cloverdale Personal Care Home, Masontown, Pa. She was born Sept. 27, 1924, in Lynch, Ky., daughter of the late Alex and Edith (Namet) Hegedus.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Elmer Chory in 1951; an infant son, Richard Wayne; and her second husband, Louis Rozzi in 1986.
She is survived by her three children, Ronald and his wife, Ann of Corryton, Tenn., Robert and wife, Theresa of Masontown, Pa., and Mary Rachelle and husband, Jeff of Hollywood, Md.; sisters, Helen Nickler of Morgantown, W.Va., and Irene and husband, Edward Onuscheck of Indiana, Pa.; and seven grandchildren.
Mary attended Point Marion High School and Morgantown Business College. She was the last secretary of the Masontown Chamber of Commerce and a member of All Saint Roman Catholic Church of Masontown, where she was a lector for many years, a past member of the Confraternity of Christian Mothers, Catholic Daughters of America and many other community and church organizations. She also enjoyed playing bridge and traveling, especially to Las Vegas.
Friends will be received in the JOHN S. MAYKUTH JR., FUNERAL HOME, on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m., and Monday until 9:30 a.m., when a prayer service will be held, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m., in All Saint R.C. Church, Masontown, with the Rev. Fr. James F. Bump as Celebrant. Entombment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery. A Parish Wake Service will be held on Sunday afternoon. Christian Mothers will recite the Rosary on Sunday at 3 p.m.
