John A. Kania
John A. Kania, age 89, of Farmington, Pa., passed away Thursday, September 8, 2004, at his home.
He was born April 20, 1915, in Pittsburgh, Pa., son of Jacob and Rose (Duda) Kania.
John was retired from Pittsburgh National Bank and a Veteran of the United States Army who served during World War II. He was a life member of V.F.W. Post No. 47, Uniontown, and was a member of American Legion Post No. 946 in Ursina, Pa.
He was also a member of the Mountain Citizens Action Group.
He was predeceased by a brother, Joseph Kania, a sister, Ann Kania Ringeisen, and parents.
Surviving are his wife, Mary M. Connors Kania, and a special friend, Tom Van Bremen of Farmington.
Friends will be received in the DONALD R. CRAWFORD FUNERAL HOME, FARMINGTON, today (Saturday, September 11) until 11 a.m., the hour of the service, with the Rev. David Herring officiating.
Interment will be in Bethel Memorial Cemetery, Farmington.
Visitation was also held Friday from 5 to 9 p.m.
