Two more face charges in armed robbery
State police have arrested two more people in connection with the May 14 armed robbery of a Route 40 convenience store. Police on Thursday charged Kathy Ann Bass and Joseph Bass, both 40, of Main Street, Cardale, with criminal conspiracy to commit robbery and criminal conspiracy to commit theft.
They were arraigned before District Justice Randy Abraham and committed to the Fayette County Prison, in lieu of $30,000 bond.
Police said Joseph Bass allegedly drove Stephen Ira Hollabaugh, 44, of Fairmont, W.Va., to the Kwik Fill gas station in Menallen Township and waited for him while he robbed it.
Kathy Ann Bass also was in the vehicle and waited for Hollabaugh, police said.
After the robbery, all three went to the Basses’ residence, police said.
Hollabaugh also is suspected in three other armed robberies: a May 12 holdup at the Parkvale Bank on Route 40 in Grindstone and the May 16 robberies of Grandy’s Pizza in New Salem and the PennCraft store in Luzerne Township. He was arrested May 17 at a home in Cardale, and faces multiple charges.
Also, on July 27, Fairmont, W.Va., police arrested July Copley, 34, who has a mailing address in Morgantown, W.Va., on charges that she drove the getaway vehicle used in the Parkvale robbery.
