Josephine J. Guzi Goodwin, age 82, of South Connellsville, Pa., died Friday, September 10, 2004, in Jefferson Hospital, Pittsburgh, Pa. She was born June 9, 1922, in Connellsville, Pa., daughter of Michael and Anna (Borsz) Guzi.

Josephine was a lifelong resident of South Connellsville. She graduated from Connellsville High School and was a member of Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church in Connellsville.

She was a loving Mother and Grandmother to her family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Kenneth D. Goodwin in 1979, a sister, Anna Mae Guzi Cole, two brothers, James and John Guzi, and her parents.

Josephine is survived by her loving daughter, Karen Zawislan of Pittsburgh, Pa.; her grandchildren: Michael Zawislan of Connellsville and Laura Zawislan of Pittsburgh; and several nieces and nephews. Josephine was the last surviving member of her immediate family.

Family and friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 EAST GREEN STREET, CONNELLSVILLE, Pa., on Monday from 2 to 9 p.m. A Blessing Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Tuesday, September 14, at 9:30 a.m.

A Funeral Mass follows at 10 a.m. in Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville, with the Rev. Father John Butler as Celebrant.

Committal Service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville.

Parish Wake Service will be held in the Funeral Home on Monday at 3 p.m.
