Edward F. Barry
Edward F. Barry, age 81, passed away on Friday, September 10, 2004, in Uniontown Hospital, Uniontown, Pa.
He was born August 30, 1923, in Southwest, Pa., son of James J. Barry and Ella Murphy Barry.
He graduated from Brownsville High School Class of 1943 and enlisted in the United States Army that same year. He served in the 8th Armored Division, European Theatre of Operations, World War II and Korean War. He was a Disabled American Veteran and a member of V.F.W. Post 47 in Uniontown.
Edward was also a member of Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents and six brothers, Richard, Joseph, Michael, John, Vincent and Paul Barry.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of 56 years, Isabelle Corrine Ridgway Barry; two sons: Edward M. Barry and his wife Janet of Uniontown, Pa., and Michael T. Barry and his wife Toni of Uniontown; two brothers: James Barry and his wife Gladys of Brownsville, Pa., and William Barry of Uniontown; and four grandchildren: Meghan and Kevin Barry and Therese and Jennifer Barry.
Arrangements have been entrusted to the ANDREW D. FERGUSON FUNERAL HOME INC., 80 Morgantown Street, Uniontown, Pa., where friends will be received, September 13, until 10:45 a.m.
A Mass of Christian Burial follows at 11 a.m. in Saint John the Evangelist Roman Catholic Church, Jefferson Street, with the Rev. Father William J. Kiel as Celebrant.
Entombment will follow in Chapel of Memories Mausoleum, Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, where Full Military Rites will be accorded by General George C. Marshall AMVETS Post 103 of Hopwood.
Visitation was also held Sunday from Noon to 2 and 6 to 8 p.m.
Parish Wake Service was held in the Funeral Home on Sunday at 6 p.m.
