Isabel D. (Stephens) Chalfant, age 81, of Grindstone, Pa., died Saturday, September 11, 2004, in Mount Macrina Manor, Uniontown, Pa. She was born September 4, 1923, in Washington Township, Fayette County, Pa., a Daughter of Allen Farquhar Stephens and Anna Mae (Legg) Stephens.

She was a member of Fairview United Methodist Church in Grindstone and Morning Star Grange in Jefferson Township.

Her husband, Alfred Chalfant, one brother, Allen Stephens, four sisters, Bessie Stephens, Ruth Moore, Beatrice “Bea” Stephens, Florence Popa, and parents preceded her in death.

Surviving are three Sons: Alfred R. Chalfant and wife Frances of Belle Vernon, Pa., Allan Chalfant and wife Mary of Belle Vernon and Larry Chalfant and wife Leslie of Perryopolis, Pa.; two Daughters: Dianne Onusko and husband Michael of Grindstone and Tammy Uhor of Grindstone; one Brother, Jack Stephens of Simi Valley, California; 14 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren.

Friends will be received in the ELEY-McCRORY FUNERAL HOME INC., 334 Main Street, Fayette City, Pa., today and Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, September 15, until 11 a.m., the hour of Services in the Funeral Home with the Rev. Brock Beveridge officiating.

Entombment will follow in Chapel of Peace Mausoleum, LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa.
