Eleanor Josephine Harris, 86, of Washington D.C., died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, in Johnston-Willis Hospital, Richmond, Va. She was born March 21, 1918, in California, Pa., a daughter of the late Walter and Naomi Lash Gillis.

She was a graduate of California High School.

Mrs. Harris worked for several banks as a clerk. Her last employment was with D.C. National Bank.

She married Clifford Harris who died April 27, 1980.

Surviving are a daughter, Mildred Harris and her husband, William, of Richmond, Va.; one son, David Harris of Washington, D.C.; and three granddaughters, Elie Harris and Ariel Harris, both of Richmond, Va., and Caitlin Hill of Jerusalem, Israel.

Deceased in addition to her parents and husband are her Aunt and Uncle Mildred and Walter Leeper, who helped raise her.
