Mary R. Slevin
Mary Rita Koral Slevin, 90, of Nemacolin, Pa., died Monday, Sept. 13, 2004, in Monongalia General Hospital. She graduated from Carmichaels High School in 1931. She attended Waynesburg College and began teaching at the Nemacolin Elementary School at the age of 18.
She was the mother of two daughters, Maureen Slevin of Nemacolin, Pa., and Elizabeth Thompson of Crossville, Tenn.
She retired from the Carmichaels Area School District in 1977.
Mary Slevin is survived by three grandchildren and their families: Maura Savini of Nemacolin, Sean and Robyn Savini of Pittsburgh, and Erin Savini and Howard Chester of East Lyme, Conn. She delighted in her six great-grandchildren whose love sustained her in her final days. They are: Quincy, Jude, Donovan, Andre, Lauren and Tianna; and brothers and sisters, Julia Wolff, Anna Partica and John and Charles Koral. Mary also had two well-loved pets in her late life, Molly, a Golden Retriever, and Kinky, who taught her how to love a cat, as well as many nieces and nephews, also survive her.
Friends will be received Thursday, Sept. 16, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Paul Lesako Funeral Home, Inc., in Carmichaels, Pa. A prayer service will be held Friday, Sept. 17 at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home.
