Mary V. (Marva) Krizner, 96, of Johnstown, Pa., formerly of Cleveland, Ohio, died Tuesday, Sept. 14, 2004, at the McCullough House. Born October 12, 1907, in Dawson, Pa., she was the daughter of John and Mary (Kacir) Marva.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Andrew; brothers, John of Eureka, Calif., Stephen of Shoaf, Pa., and Paul of Austin, Texas; and sisters, Margaret Dorsey of Shoaf, Pa., Mollie Putanko of McKeesport, Pa., and Ann Kosco of Uniontown.

She is survived by sons, Robert and wife Marianne (Smriga) of Johnstown, James and wife Sharon (Jahnke) of Englewood, Ohio, and Ronald and wife Mary Lou (Bongirolami) of Brentwood, Tenn.; sisters Josephine Utlak and Verna Giachetti, both of Uniontown; a brother, Anthony Marva of Uniontown; grandchildren, Douglas Krizner of Oakland, Calif., Richard Krizner of Plymouth Meeting, Pa., Thomas Krizner of Oakland, Calif., Ellen Warner of Brookeville, Md., Lauren Krizner of Washington, D.C., Allison Krizner of Los Angeles, Calif., Lisa George of New York City, Scott Krizner of Englewood, Ohio, and Kenneth Krizner, Karen Young and Paul Krizner, all of Wickliffe, Ohio; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Mary lived in Uniontown until her family moved to Cleveland during World War II, where she lived until the passing of her husband, Andrew, who died May 8, 1986. She then moved to Johnstown in 1987 and lived with her son, Robert and his wife for 13 years before moving to the McCullough House in September 2000.

She worked for Taylor Department Store, Sherwin Williams and the May Company in Cleveland, Ohio. Mary was strong in her faith and was a member of Our Mother of Sorrows Catholic Church, where a Funeral Mass will be concelebrated on Friday at 11:30 a.m., with the Very Rev. Paul E. Turnbull, V.F., and the Rev. Fr. Adrian Tirpak, TOR.

Friends will be received on Thursday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. and on Friday from 9 to 11 a.m. at FRANK DUCA FUNERAL HOME, Westmont Chapel, 1622 Menoher Blvd. Committal will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Northfield, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Our Mother of Sorrows School or to the Medi Home Hospice, 9173 Route 30, Irwin, Pa., 15642, in her memory.
