Timothy Danko, 36, of Bobtown told borough police that a radar detector and prescription drugs were stolen from his vehicle in the lot of the Masontown General Store on Thursday afternoon.

Steve Stepanik Jr. of 28 Farragut St. told city police Saturday that $17 was stolen from his wallet in his home overnight.

Charges pending
City police said charges of indirect criminal contempt are pending against a Uniontown man for allegedly violating the terms of a protection from abuse order. The man reportedly called Candy L. Straitiff’s Austin Street home Saturday afternoon and threatened to harm her.

Man arrested
City police arrested James Kynard on an outstanding warrant for an alleged parole violation in Ohio. Police came across Kynard, 33, after a security officer called them to the Mount Vernon Inn around 1 a.m. Saturday.
The investigating officer alleged that Kynard had been staying at the hotel for about a week and had not paid his bill. After police talked to Kynard, they did a criminal record check and found an active warrant for him. He was arraigned before District Justice Mark Blair and was sent to Fayette County Prison in lieu of $50,000 straight cash bond.

City police cited Stephanie Mitchell of 166 E. Main St. for disorderly conduct after she allegedly had her stereo playing loudly around 3 a.m. Saturday.

Break-in attempted
Uniontown police responded to a report of an attempted break-in at Byers Market on Connellsville Street around 3:30 a.m. Saturday. Police searched the area but did not find the man and woman a witness said was responsible.

Bad check passed
Colleen Fortugna, office manager at Cardello Electric, told city police that on Sept. 3, a woman passed a check for $1,350.56 for merchandise at the store. The Citizens Bank check had a fictitious number, police said.

Three parking meters along South Street were broken, and an undetermined amount of money inside taken, around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, according to city police.

City police cited Alisha M. Bassinger, 21, of Connellsville for violating the open container ordinance in Uniontown. Bassinger allegedly had an open 40-ounce bottle of beer in her hand while walking along Lenox Street around 11:30 p.m. Friday.
