Grace V. Day Carlson Krause, age 84, of South Connellsville, Pa., died Saturday, September 18, 2004, in UPMC Shadyside, Pittsburgh, Pa.

She was born November 25, 1919, in Connellsville, Pa., daughter of Irvin and Flossie (Dye) Day.

Grace had been a resident of South Connellsville since 1948.

Prior to her retirement she worked as a Selector for the Anchor Hocking Glass Plant in South Connellsville.

She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Connellsville.

She was also a member of the South Connellsville Firemen’s Ladies Auxiliary.

She was predeceased by her first husband, Harold Carlson in 1964, her second husband, Herman L. Krause in 1981, two sons-in-law, Harold Keefer and Charles Ritenour, four grandsons, John Keefer, Daniel Keefer, Thomas Keefer and Charles Ritenour Jr., a brother, Charles Day, and her parents.

Grace is survived by her loving daughters: Lois Keefer of Connellsville, Pa., Carol Ritenour of Mount Pleasant, Pa., Barbara Brown and her husband, Ray, of South Connellsville and Leah Miller and her husband, David, of South Connellsville; a stepson, Gerald W. Krause and his wife, Pat, of Mount Pleasant; a step daughter, Mary Cain and her husband, Bill, of Leisenring, Pa.; a special friend and companion, John Kopetsky Jr. of Leisenring, Pa.; 10 grandchildren: Harold Ritenour and his wife, Laura, of Scottdale, Pa., Randy Ritenour and his wife, Judy, of South Connellsville, Terri Mauro and her husband, Louis, of Connellsville, Tonya Miller of South Connellsville, Ronna Ebeling and her husband, Dan, of Mount Pleasant, Linda Brown and her husband, Tony, of Mount Pleasant, Ray Brown Jr. and his wife, Julie, of Connellsville, Cathy Black and her husband, George, of Champion, Pa., Pastor Ron Brown and his wife, Brenda, of Cranberry Township, Pa., and Carey Connors and her husband, Chris, of Scottdale; five step grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; and a brother, Robert Day and his wife, Louise, of California state.

Family and friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 EAST GREEN STREET, CONNELLSVILLE, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A Prayer Service will be held Tuesday, September 21, at 10:30 a.m. in the Funeral Home

A Funeral Service follows at 11 a.m. in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 126 East Fairview Avenue, Connellsville, with the Rev. Philip Ramstad officiating and assisted by her grandson, Pastor Ron Brown.

A Committal Service and interment will follow in Green Ridge Memorial Park, Pennsville, Pa.

Visitation was also held Sunday from 7 to 9 p.m.
