Getrude “Gert” Pauley, 76, of Mount Morris, Pa., died Monday, September 20, 2004, in Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown, W.Va. She was born April 3, 1928, in Alicia, Pa., to the late John and Opal (Phillips) Wagner.

Mrs. Pauley was a homemaker. She spent her early life in Greene County, and 32 years in Brownsville, Pa., and was back in Greene County since 1991. She was a member of the Mount Morris United Methodist Church and the Emerald Chapter Order of the Eastern Star No. 135 of Waynesburg.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, James J. Pauley, Jr., whom she married April 11, 1953; one daughter, Linda Pauley; one son, Edward Pauley; two sisters, Martha Haney and Vivian Maple; and one brother, John Wagner, Jr.

Surviving are one daughter, Debi Pauley of Houston, Texas; two songs, James Pauley, III of Los Angeles, Calif. and Robbie Pauley of Mount Morris, Pa.; three grandchildren, Jason Pauley, Ashley Pauley and Kristen Pauley; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Connie Barb and Jean Lewis, both of Mapletown, Pa. and Theda Sawyer of West Brownsville, Pa.; two brothers, James Wagner of Ludlow, Mass. and Robert Wagner of Mount Morris, Pa.; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the MILLIKEN AND THROCKMORTON FUNERAL HOME, INC., corner of Ellsworth Avenue and Route 19, Mount Morris, Pa., Thursday, September 23, from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 24 at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Francis L. Storer officiating. Burial will be in LaFayette Memorial Park, Brier Hill, Pa. Information is available online at www.milliken-throckmortonfh.com.
