Iona M. Selby

Iona M. Selby, 90, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Tuesday, September 21, 2004, in Beverly Healthcare Center. She was born September 11, 1914, in Millsboro, Del., daughter of the late Harold Selby and Edna M. Moore Selby.

Her entire adult life was spent in New York City until her retirement in 1990, when she returned to Uniontown. Here she was a member of Saint Paul A.M.E. Church, where she was part of the Kitchen Committee and the Mother of Zion.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by three brothers, Carl DeShields, Harvey Selby and King Harold Selby, Jr.

Surviving are two sisters, Helen Ellis and husband Oliver, Sr. of Uniontown, Pa. and Jessica Martin of Uniontown, Pa.; 15 nieces and nephews; a host of great-nieces, great-nephews, great-great-nieces and great-great-nephews; cousins; and other relatives and friends.

Friends will be received in the MURIEL E. LANTZ FUNERAL HOME, 297 East Main Street, Uniontown, Pa., Friday from 5 to 9 p.m., where services will be held Saturday at 10 a.m., with the Rev. Alfred Thompson officiating. Interment will be at Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
