John N. Anderson, Sr.
John N. Anderson, Sr., of Levittown, died Tuesday, September 28, 2004, at Lower Bucks Hospital in Bristol Township. Mr. Anderson was born and raised in Uniontown, Pa., where he graduated from South Union High School in 1947. He was employed with U.S. Steel’s Fairless Works in the Open Hearth Division for 35 years until retiring in 1988.
Mr. Anderson was a member of the Immaculate Conception Parish and the Merry Macs, and was also a member of the S.J.W. Seniors. He was an avid gardener and a fan of both the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pirates.
He was the son of the late Nicholas and Margaret Anderson, and brother of the late James Anderson.
Mr. Anderson is the beloved husband of nearly 54 years to Bernadette (Rae) Anderson, and is the loving father of Linda Rivelli and husband Ron of Langhorne, Thomas J. Anderson and wife Calleanne of Levittown, Richard B. Anderson of Fairless Hills and John N. Anderson, Jr. and wife Heidi of Holland. He is the loving Pop-Pop of Jennifer and Christopher Rivelli and Lindsey, Ian and Madilynn Anderson; and is the brother of Dorothy Ballard of Philadelphia, Rose Kodric and husband Mike of Uniontown, Mary Ange of Baltimore, Md., Alma Arcangelini of Cleveland, Ohio, Theresa Norris of Baltimore, Md., Charles Anderson and wife Bernice of Hopwood and Steve Andrasy and wife Irene of Masontown. He will also be sadly missed by his brothers-in-law, Kenneth Rae of Levittown and Thomas Rae and wife Mildred of Hershey, Pa; and many nieces and nephews.
Family and friends are invited to call on Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. and Saturday from 8:15 to 9:15 a.m. at the JAMES J. DOUGHERTY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Church, followed by Rite of Committal in Resurrection Cemetery. Memorial Contributions would be appreciated to the American Lung Association, 525 Plymouth Road, Suite 403, Plymouth Meeting, Pa., 19462, or to a charity of the donor’s choice.
