Woman injured
City police said Angela Marie Dugan reported that she was punched and cut with a knife by a known male during an argument in her West Kerr Street residence Tuesday night. Officers responded to the Uniontown Hospital emergency room at 11:25 p.m. when she was being treated for small cuts on her arm and leg and bruises on her face. The incident is under investigation.

Armed robbery
City police said two young black males robbed Michelle Girard at gunpoint at her Lemon Street home Wednesday at 1:21 a.m. They knocked on her door and asked to use the phone, but she denied their request. Then they produced a firearm and demanded money. They grabbed her around the neck and took a change pouch containing her driver’s license and 30 cents from her pocket and fled. The incident is under investigation.

Woman assaulted
Borough police said they found Brandy Flora, 24, on the sidewalk in front of a Main Street bar bleeding from her nose and mouth early Saturday morning. She told officers she was attacked by several unknown females when she left the bar. She was treated at Uniontown Hospital.

City police said Melinda Shriver of Edgemont Drive reported Tuesday at 8:26 p.m. that $100 was taken from her purse while she was visiting an inmate in the county prison. She told police the purse was in a locker in the prison.

Charges filed
Charges of theft, receiving stolen property and criminal conspiracy were filed against Kimberly Ann Laporte, 37, of Connellsville and Jason Wollen, 33, of Greensburg in connection with numerous thefts of scrap metal from EHC Industries between Aug. 12 and Sept. 14, state police said. Laporte was also charged with unsworn falsifications and false identification for allegedly providing police with a false name.

Someone threw rocks that left two holes in the siding of 82-year-old Sophia Hovan’s South Water Street home Friday night, borough police said.

Michelle Chandler, 24, of 65 Fort Mason Village was cited with harassment for allegedly reaching into a vehicle and pulling Lara Youler’s hair in the housing project Friday afternoon, borough police said.

Stolen car found
Borough police said a car reported stolen by owner Bill Fotta, 49, from his Lytle Lane residence on Sept. 21 was recovered the next day in Fort Mason Village with its tires flattened and radio stolen.

City police said a white male in his 20s wearing a bandana driving a silver Toyota or Honda left the Exxon on Route 40 at Route 21 without paying for $13.03 in gas Tuesday at 10:28 a.m.

Ex-mailman indicted
A Connellsville man has been indicted by a federal grand jury in Pittsburgh on a single count of theft of mail.
Angelo J. Ross, a former postal worker, allegedly stole two pieces of mail, which he was handling as part of his duties, according to the indictment handed down Tuesday.
Ross, 53, of 1003 Grandview Road faces up to five years in prison and a maximum fine of $250,000, if convicted, said Assistant U.S. Attorney Shaun E. Sweeney, who presented the case to the grand jury.
Under the Federal Sentencing Guidelines, said Sweeney, the actual sentence imposed would be based on the seriousness of the offense and the prior criminal history, if any, of the defendant.
The U.S. Postal Inspection Service conducted the investigation leading to the indictment, according to U.S. Attorney Mary Beth Buchanan.

State police said someone stole a 2002 yellow Suzuki RM250 Racing Motorcycle owned by Kerry Dull, 46, and Greg Dull, 39, of Leisenring from their East Broadway Street residence between 8 p.m. Tuesday and 5:30 a.m. Wednesday.

Woman assaulted
State police said five black girls assaulted April Williams of Uniontown at a residence along Crossland Avenue at 5:35 p.m. Tuesday after a verbal dispute.
