Mary Andyjohn Sante
Mary J. Andyjohn Sante, age 94, of Uniontown, Pa., and formerly of Connellsville, Pa., died Friday, April 8, 2005, in the Uniontown Hospital. She was born April 17, 1910, in Lenola, Italy, daughter of Salvatore Andyjohn and Florence Tatalrelli Andyjohn.
Mrs. Sante was a former resident of Uniontown and was the former owner of Sante’s Pizza Shop on Gallatin Avenue.
She was a member of Saint Rita Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville, and The Confraternity of Christian Mothers.
She was predeceased by her husband, Anthony “Tony” Sante in 1971, one son, Louis D. Sante, two granddaughters, Mary Irene Sante and Toni Lynn Sante, three brothers, Joseph, Patsy and Arthur Andyjohn, one sister, Ada Caringola Homonai, and parents.
She is survived by two children: Robert S. Sante and his wife, Michelle, of Grindstone, Pa., and Toni Sante Glitz and her husband, Donald Glitz, of Downingtown, Pa.; a daughter-in-law, Gerri Panzella and her husband, Joseph, of Connellsville, Pa.; seven grandchildren: Maria DeLuca and her husband John, Lt. Robert A. Sante and his wife Leigh Ann, Michael Santangelo and his wife Kym, Nicholas Santangelo and his wife Katherine, Kristin Miller and her husband Keith, Allison Hamer and her husband Robert and Derek Glitz; nine great grandchildren: Anthony, Dominic and Lauren DeLuca, Joshua and Joey Sante, Mathew and Raychel Santangelo, and Luke and Logan Miller; two sisters: Angela Andyjohn Graziano of Dunbar, Pa., and Parmina Andyjohn of Uniontown, Pa.; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Friends will be received in the BROOKS FUNERAL HOME INC., 111 EAST GREEN STREET, CONNELLSVILLE, Pa., today from 7 to 9 p.m., Sunday from Noon to 9 p.m. where a Blessing Service will be held Monday, April 11, at 9:30 am.
A Funeral Mass follows at 10 a.m. in Saint Rita Roman Catholic Church, Connellsville, with the Rev. Frank A. Lesniowski as Celebrant.
Interment will follow in Sylvan Heights Cemetery, Uniontown, Pa.
Saint Rita’s Christian Mothers will join the Parish Wake Service that will be held in the Funeral Home on Sunday at 7 p.m.
