Brice Stephen Barkley
Brice Stephen Barkley, age 33, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away peacefully on Monday evening, July 25, 2005, in the Uniontown Hospital. He was born December 10, 1971, in Uniontown, Pa., the son of Deborah Hlastala Barkley.
Brice graduated from Laurel Highlands Senior High School and was a Veteran of the United States Army who served in Desert Storm with the 160th Aviation Battalion Special Operations (The Nightstalkers).
He worked for the Mallory Fullmer Company.
Brice was courageous during the entire time of his illness. He accepted his illness with dignity.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Rudolph Joseph Hlastala.
Brice is survived by his beloved mother, Deborah Hlastala Barkley and Frank Steck: his brother, Russell Barkley of Uniontown, Pa.; sisters: Carly and Kirstie both of Baltimore, Maryland; his grandmother, Ann Stossel Hlastala of Uniontown; his uncle, Richard Hlastala of Uniontown; his aunt, Karen Gartley and her husband, Bruce, of Jacksonville, Florida; also cousins, other relatives, friends and neighbors. Brice held close to his heart Keith Martin, whom he cared for like a son.
Friends and family will be received in the STEPHEN E. KEZMARSKY III FUNERAL HOME AT 71 PENNSYLVANIA AVENUE, UNIONTOWN, Pa., on Thursday, August 4, 2005, from 6 to 7 p.m. A Memorial Service will be held in the Funeral Home Chapel at 7 p.m.
Military Honors will be accorded immediately following the Memorial Service.
Interment will be private (family only).
