Dunbar couple victim of home invasion

By The 1 min read

A Dunbar couple was the victim of a home invasion robbery early Tuesday morning. State police trooper David Bell, who responded to the couple’s 309 Piper Hollow Road home, said that the people living at the house were awakened by two loud bangs around 1:15 a.m.

A short time later, two black men, one stocky, the other thin, came into the couple’s bedroom with T-shirts tied around their faces, Bell said.

The woman living at the house told police she was tied up with an extension cord and dragged into the room of the couple’s sleeping infant. The intruders picked up their daughter, four days shy of 1 month old, and held a gun to the baby’s head, Bell said.

The men demanded money, but there was none in the house, so Bell said they eventually left the home.

The trooper said the man living at the home had three superficial cuts to the back of his head from a knife used in the attack.

The baby, Bell said, slept through the entire ordeal.

Police are continuing to investigate and anyone with information are asked to please call the barracks at 724-439-7111.
