James L. Solomon
James L. Solomon, age 76, of Uniontown, Pa., passed away Friday, August 5, 2005, in his home. He was born July 22, 1929, in Uniontown, Pa., son of William Albert Solomon and Osie Lehman Solomon.
“Jim” graduated from the now former South Union High School in Uniontown and also from Robert Morris College, Pittsburgh, Pa.
He served in the United States Army as a Military Policeman.
He was a world-class horseshoe pitcher and was enshrined in the National Horseshoe Pitchers Association Hall of Fame in 1997.
For over 40 years he was the owner and sole proprietor of Solomon Accounting Service in Uniontown.
He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Nancy J. Blake Solomon; two daughters: Deborah Hauger and husband, Rick, and Terry Cluss and husband, Chris, all of Uniontown; his beloved granddaughter, Shelby Lee Hauger; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, George and Jean Blake; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Friends will be received in the THOMAS M. DOLFI FUNERAL HOME, 136 North Gallatin Avenue, Uniontown, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Tuesday, August 9, from 11 a.m. to Noon, the hour of Service with Pastor Jay P. Hurley of Mount Moriah Baptist Church officiating.
Interment will follow in Oak Lawn Cemetery, Uniontown.

Visitation was also held Sunday evening from 7 to 9 p.m.
