Cecil H. Skidmore
Cecil H. Skidmore, age 77, of Lake Lynn, Pa., died Sunday, August 7, 2005, in his home. Born August 7, 1928, in Lake Lynn, Pa., he was a son of Russell T. Skidmore Sr. and Grace Friend Skidmore.
He had been a fireman with the United States Navy during World War II, graduated from Allegany Trade School in Cumberland, Maryland and was formerly employed as a Machinist for Bay State Building and Supply in Baltimore, Maryland.
He was predeceased by his parents and two brothers, Russell T. Skidmore Jr. and Carl Skidmore.
Surviving are three children: Mark Skidmore of Morgantown, West Virginia, Mrs. William (Debbie) Houck of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Mrs. Dave (Tammy) Shipley of Masontown, Pa.; grandchildren: Tara, Pam and Billy Houck and Daniel Shipley; several great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews including Tom Skidmore and his wife, Shelly, of Lake Lynn who looked after and cared for Cecil for the past several years.
Friends will be received in the RICHARD R. HEROD FUNERAL HOME, Point Marion, Pa., today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and Wednesday, August 10, until 1 p.m., the hour of Service.
Interment follows in the Skidmore Family Cemetery, Lake Lynn.
