Man run over by train
A train struck a man as he was lying between the rails in Monongahela, Washington County, early Wednesday, according to the county coroner. Edward Beluscak was pronounced dead at the Monongahela Valley Hospital Emergency Room at 12:54 a.m. after a northbound Norfolk & Southern train struck the man near the Factory Street crossing, according to coroner Timothy Warco.
The train engineer saw the man, but was unable to get the train stopped, said Warco.
The cause and manner of death is awaiting an autopsy and an investigation, respectively.
The Monongahela City Police Department is investigating the incident.
