Thomas C. Kaprive

Thomas C. Kaprive, 70, of Uniontown, Pa., entered eternal life on August 9, 2005. He was the beloved husband of the late Janet Lukey Kaprive and the son of the late Frank and Julia Blanc Kaprive of Nemacolin, Pa., and son-in-law of Ann and the late George Lukey.

He was the loving father of David Kaprive and wife, Jimena and John Kaprive and wife, Aline, both of San Mateo, Calif., and Amy Kaprive Picchiotti and husband, John of Arlington Heights, Ill.; fond grandfather of Carly, Johnny, Grace and Luke; and brother of Frank Kaprive and wife, Margaret of Venice, Fla.

He graduated from Cumberland Township High School in 1953, and was a member of the 1952 state championship Cumberland “Mikes” football team.

He served in the United States Air Force in Germany, until 1957, and then entered West Virginia University, where he graduated with a degree in business.

After living in New Jersey and the Chicago area, he returned home to Uniontown in 2001.

Graveside services will be held in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Hopwood, Pa., on Friday, August 12, 2005, at 10 a.m. Arrangements are under the direction of the J. HARRY JOHNSTON FUNERAL HOME, 65 North Gallatin Ave., Uniontown, Pa. The family requests that memorial donations be made to the American Diabetes Association, 300 Penn Center Blvd., Suite 700, Pittsburgh, PA 15235. 1-800-DIABETES.
